Działalność naukowa

W mojej karierze naukowej udało mi się stworzyć spójny zbiór publikacji w dotychczasowej liczbie 75 artykułów naukowych w dziedzinie otyłości i cukrzycy. W ostatnim czasie mój zespół badawczy opublikował prace z zakresu związku efektów immunologicznych z wyżej wymienionymi zaburzeniami.

Do tej pory byłem promotorem 4 klinicystów ( Dr’s Khatib, Abusnana, Cawood and O’Connell) w przewodach doktorskich I jednego w ubieganiu się o tytuł MD (Dr Bashir). Ponadto mam zapisanych do siebie 4 doktorantów (Dr’s Woods, Ahern, Gaoawste and Carolan) oraz 2 kandydatów do tytułu MD (Dr’s Kattak & Armin). De Erin carolan I jej następca Dr Meenal Mavinkurve podejęli się prowadzenia projektów badawczych nad otyłością dziecięcą we współpracy z Dr Declan Cody of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital. Razem z Dr Braian’em Kirby współnadzorowałem pracę dermatolog (Dr Anne Marie Tobin) w uzyskaniu tytułu doktorskiego oraz z Prof. Walter’em Mc Nicholas’em, współnadzoruję Dr Briana Kenta w ubieganiu się o tytuł doktorski. Obydwoje oni uczestniczą I prezentują swoje plany badawczo-eksperymentalne na naszych cotygodniowych spotkaniach.  Nadzorowałem dwoje dietetyków z naszej jednostki badawczej w prowadzeniu ich Prac Magisterskich (Alison Quinn I Lorraine Cooney). Zwłaszcza cieszę się z faktu, iż kolejny z naszych dietetyków, (Cathy Breen), znalazła czas na otwarcie przewodu doktorskiego.  Ukończyła ona transfer swojego doktoratu I jest na ostatnim roku studiów, posiada już 3 publikacje oparte na podstawie swojej pracy doktorskiej. Obecnie mam pod opieką 3 naukowców po doktoratach (Dr Andrew Hogan, Dr Michelle Corrigan I Dr Laura Tobin). Moi obecnie studenci są w trakcie ukończenia swoich studiów zmierzających do uzyskania tytułów PhD/MD z doskonałymi perspektywami na publikowanie prac badawczych.
