Erich Gattinger, PhD, is a university lecturer at the University of Salzburg and at the University of Salzburg Business School. He is also a practicing Clinical and Health Psychologist, Psychotherapist (trained in client centered Psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, systematic family therapy) and Supervisor (Systemic Supervision).

After a managerial position in a non-profit organization, he has been self-employed since 1990 as an adviser, consultant of organizations, coach, supervisor and is a founding member of the Obesity Academy Austria.

Erich Gattinger organized therapy and prevention projects for obese people.

As the founder of MAPS (Mensch Arbeit Psychologie: Institute for Social Analysis and Organizational Development) the focus of his work is on evaluating the outcome and process of prevention and health projects and supervising social non profit organizations.
