Ellen Moens graduated in July 1999 as a Clinical Psychologist at Ghent University (Ghent, Belgium). Since October 1999, she was working at the Department of Developmental, Personality and Social Psychology (Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Ghent University). In May 2008 she successfully defended her PhD dissertation entitled “Towards a better understanding of parental influences on childhood obesity” (promoted by Prof. Dr. Caroline Braet). Since October 2008 she is working as a postdoctoral researcher at the same department. In October 2009 she was granted a post-doctoral research mandate by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) on eating behaviour of young children. Next to her research tasks she is teaching practical courses at Psychology-students on the assessment and treatment of obesity and internalizing problems and as a behavioural therapist she is also a member of Ghent University Child Mental Health Centre.
